Our
Reserve Chardonnay is entirely estate-grown, with élevage and bottling
carried out exclusively on the mountain. The wine was fermented and aged on the
lees in French Oak barrels for 10 months, followed by an additional 12 months
of sur lie aging in stainless steel. This extended maturation enhances
the wine's longevity, while softening its texture and refining its structure.
In
the glass, it displays a youthful golden hue. Aromas open with wet stone and
citrus pith, unfolding into layers of fresh-pressed apple, lemon zest, and a
light spice. On the palate, the wine is supple and texturally rich, with
mineral notes evolving into a saline edge and a savory umami character. Subtle
hints of cardamom and shiitake add complexity.
Elegant
yet restrained, it offers both depth and length. While beautifully expressive
now, this wine will continue to evolve over the next 15 to 25 years.

2021 was a historic drought year,
with only 12.75 inches of rain--the lowest we have ever recorded. The previous
record was set in 2014, with 14 inches. This limited rainfall can positively
impact wine quality, resulting in smaller grape berries that produce highly
concentrated and complex wines.
